Blackburn vs Rotherham Betting Tips

Blackburn are in good form, unbeaten in 6 matches and they've taken 7 points from their 3 games since Paul Lambert took charge. Rovers have moved up to 13th place and the former Aston Villa boss will be targeting 3 points here that would take his side into the top half.

Rotherham may be struggling down in 23rd but this should still be a competitive game. The Millers have turned a bit of a corner you sense under Neil Redfearn and won back-to-back matches against Leeds and Bristol City prior to a 2-1 home defeat against Wolves last time out.

"OVER 2.5 Goals"

"Blackburn WIN- 2:1"

They will know that a point here would be enough to lift them out of the relegation zone while a win would really add some pressure onto their relegation rivals, who all play on Saturday.
Blackburn have scored twice in every game since Lambert took charge and up against the division's worst defence, they will fancy their chances of scoring at least 2 again here. There is a goal in this Rotherham side though and they've netted more times than anyone else in the bottom 8 and have scored 1 more goal than their opponents this season.

Therefore we should see a few goals and consider backing there to be 3 or more in this game at odds of Evens.

With home advantage, In-form Blackburn are the most likely victors though and can be backed to grab a 2-1 victory.

Aston Villa vs Sunderland -Saturday 29th August

Sunderland will be hoping that they can build on their improved performance against Swansea to pick up their first Premier League win of the season when they travel to Aston Villa. Our free betting tips suggest that the home advantage will play a role in keeping Sunderland winless.
Aston Villa to Win

Aston Villa to Win 2-0

Aston Villa had to make the trip to a relatively impressive Crystal Palace last weekend, not an enviable task by any means.

They came up empty handed after a frenzied 15 minutes which saw Palace come away with a 2-1 victory courtesy of a late Bakary Sako winner on his debut.

Aston Villa had to get over this blow in the Premier League quickly so they could regroup in time for their Capital One Cup match against Notts County.

After failing to impress going forward in the Premier League so far this season, they showed that they do have some goalscoring threats in this match. They came away 5-3 victors in this match, which was taken to extra time after a 3-3 draw after 90 minutes.

Scott Sinclair bagged a hat trick to stake his claim for the first time, whilst Adama Traore also got his first goal for the club.

Sunderland, after quite frankly a desperately poor start to the season, managed to improve their performance last weekend when they faced the in-form Swansea.

They managed to snatch a point from the Welsh side thanks to Jermain Defoe's second half equalizer after Bafetimbi Gomis opened the scoring at the stroke of half time.

This 1-1 draw is a vast improvement on their 4-2 defeat to Leicester and their 3-1 loss to Norwich. However, they still have a long way to go if they are to avoid a relegation battle come the closing stages of the season.

Maybe their Capital One Cup win over Exeter City will have boosted their confidence. It was an absolute thriller of a match, with the score being 3-3 at half time and Sunderland eventually walking away 6-3 winners.

Jermain Defoe bagged another hat trick to add to his career total, Jack Rodwell scored a brace, and young star Duncan Watmore managed to get on the scoresheet for the second time this season.

Villa have the upper hand in both form and historic results. They haven't lost to Sunderland in any of their last 6 meetings, with 4 of them ending in victory for the Villains. Coming in at odds of 2.1, we think that backing a home win is an excellent chance to make some money.

Bournemouth vs Leicester - Saturday 29th August

Bournemouth will be buoyed by their performance last weekend, but can they stop an impressive Leicester side in what should be a surprisingly exciting Premier League match up. Our free betting tips suggest that it will be exciting, but that Bournemouth will come up empty handed.

Leicester to Win and -Over 2.5 Goals

Leicester to Win 3-1

Bournemouth, the Championship's top scorers last season, had struggled to find the net in their opening 2 Premier League fixtures. But last weekend they slayed that demon in dramatic fashion, beating West Ham 4-3 away from home.

They went 2-0 up in the first half through a Callum Wilson double, before West Ham brought it back in the second half. Marc Pugh netted to put Bournemouth back in the lead before Wilson completed his hat trick. Maiga got a late goal for West Ham but the newly promoted side held on for their first win of the season.

This was much needed for Bournemouth, and now they have got past their mental block of scoring in the Premier League they could push on to do better things.

They followed this up with a midweek battering of Hartlepool in the Capital One Cup, winning 4-0 in the 2
nd round thanks to goals from Yann Kermogant, Dan Gosling, and a couple from Junior Stanislas.

Leicester have been a class above this season, picking up 7 points from their first 3 Premier League games and being one of the most impressive sides in the league.

They dismantled Sunderland with a 4-2 victory on the opening day of the season, following it up with a 2-1 win over West Ham and a draw away to Spurs last weekend.

Riyad Mahrez and Marc Albrighton have been the shining stars for them, with both of them exceeding all expectations and performing excellently in each match.

But even without them present, they still managed to destroy Bury 4-1 in the Capital One Cup in midweek. A hat trick from Joseph Dodoo was the standout performance, with Andrej Kramaric also getting on the scoresheet and Gokhan Inler making his debut.

These 2 sides met in the Championship a few seasons ago, with Leicester coming out on top in both games on their way to promotion. I think they will come out on top again, and with both sides enjoying high scoring games recently, I think that odds of 9/2 are incredibly good value for a Leicester Win and Over 2.5 Goals.

Fiorentina vs AC Milan Match Review

Can one of Italy's giants return to prominence in 2015-16? It all starts on this Sunday evening.

AC Milan +0.5 Asian Handicap

Draw 0-0
AC Milan and Inter Milan are supposedly back, Napoli, Roma and Lazio are all contenders, but what's happened to Fiorentina? In the early season discussions, they've been relegated to the role of "also-ran". This is a team that finished fourth last season and wasn't so far away from Champions League contention. It won't take long for them to put themselves back on the map, all eyes in Italian football will be on their Sunday night clash with AC Milan.

Paulo Sousa takes the place of Vincenzo Montella after three relatively successful seasons. He's expected to bring a little more attacking edge to this side, but if history is anything to go by, perhaps a little additional defensive naivety as well.

There's been significant transition for Fiorentina over the summer as the Montella era ended and Sousa's has begun. German international Mario Gomez has gone, but Borja Valero and Mario Suarez will bring plenty of punch and finish to this line-up.

After finishing an inarguably miserable 10th last season. Most neutral fans are hoping for a return to true competitiveness from AC Milan. There's a lot of optimism with many already declaring them to be true title contenders.

During the summer, the club has added Alessio Romagnoli, midfield creator Andrea Bertolacci and prolific strikers Carlos Bacca and Luiz Adriano. The Rossoneri have particularly high hopes for young centre back Romagnoli, who impressed and played a pivotal role in Sampdoria's seventh place finish last season. He is only 21, but he has been ear-marked as the next central pillar of Milan's defence.

Games that are hyped this much can very easily become disappointments. Sousa's team is likely to attack, but new Milan manager Sinisa Mihajlovic will know that his team is relatively young and that travelling to Stadio Artemio Franchi and picking up a point would be no bad thing. As such our betting tips fully expect Milan to pick up at least point in this opening weekend encounter with the Asian Handicap odds offering the best value return at +0.5

Arouca vs Benfica Game Review - Betting Tip

There are fewer concerns about Benfica and their potential to successfully defend their Portuguese Primeira Liga title after they battled past Estoril and then cashed in late, eventually winning 4-0. Arouca also got their season off to a positive start, but can they stop the defending champions? Read our game preview and betting tips here.

Goals Over 2.5

Benfica to win 2-1

Arouca just about escaped relegation from Portuguese Primeira Liga last season. They scored just 26 goals in 34 games last season and their defence wasn't much better. They got their 2015-16 campaign off to a positive start with a 2-0 away win over Moreirense.

Nuno Coelho and Maurides scored goals in a second half that Arouca controlled. A few of the squad's younger players have matured and Arouca should be able to win enough games to survive another season in the Primeira Liga. Over the last two seasons, Arouca has lost all four games against Benfica, with the combined scoreline sitting at 13-1.

Benfica's victory over Estoril shouldn't be overblown. It finished up as an impressive 4-0 result, but it took until the 75th minute for Benfica to break the deadlock and their opponents could have easily scored goals either side of halftime.

Manager Rui Vitoria will be pleased with the attacking displayed by his side. The defending champions have lost a couple of players from the squad that won two straight Primeria Liga's, but young players like Semedo, Andrade, Guedes and Talisca should provide Benfica fans with plenty of optimism.

There's two elements to our betting tips for this contest. We cannot see Arouca picking up a first win, or even a first point against Benfica in league play. However, an improved club will surely test out Benifca's youth. We're not willing to summarily dismiss poor preseason form and some apparent struggles in cohesion amongst the squad.

This game will involve a few goals, but Benfica will find a way to score one more goal. The best odds are on the Goals Over 2.5 line.

Football News:- 17th August, 2015
ARSENE WENGER hailed a superb display from Mesut Ozil in Arsenal's 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace, but has urged the German to score more goals. Olivier Giroud's stunning volley and a Damien Delaney own goal ensured Arsenal bounced back from their opening-day defeat to West Ham and registered their first three points of the campaign.
Giroud's strike was the most eye-catching moment in the match, but Wenger has hailed playmaker Ozil as the stand-out player at Selhurst Park.
However, the French tactician admits he'd like to see more goals from the 26-year-old this season, with just 12 strikes to his name since joining two years ago.
"It is a pleasure to watch the quality of his passing and the intelligence of his passing," Wenger said.
"What I want from him is a few more goals this season.
"For the rest of the build-up in the game he was magnificent.
"He works harder than people think he does. He is not spectacular in his defending but he wants to do the job, he wants to help the team.
"What I liked in his game today was he made many runs without the ball behind the defenders which is a bit new as he likes to come with the ball but today he mixed up his game better."

JOSE MOURINHO admits the decision to take John Terry off at half-time during the 3-0 defeat to Manchester City was tactical. The Blues boss replaced his captain with 20-year-old Kurt Zouma, with Chelsea 1-0 down at the time after Sergio Aguero's opener.
Mourinho wanted to add pace to his back-line and believes his decision was justified, despite going on to concede another two goals at the Etihad.
"It was a decision. Zouma is the fastest defender we have in the squad," Mourinho said.
"I know Man City are going to play counter attack and Zouma is a different player to John and I was proven right because Zouma was in complete control.
"John is a player I have total trust for, with me he was never substituted, with other managers he was not selected and people thought his Chelsea career was over.
"If a manager has the right, I do, because I gave the chance to make him what he is, a fantastic player and a fantastic captain.
"One point from six is better than zero and worse than two.
"I am okay in mathematics, multiply 36 by three and I know how much it gives, I know the championship is more than mathematically open."
